When travelling overseas it is important to have a variety of ways to pay, because you can’t be sure things will always go as planned. Premier Financial Trust Bank can help with:
Foreign Cash (Service Temporarily Unavailable)
Local currency for initial taxis, tips and a coffee. It is important to have some of the local currency. Whether it is for a taxi, a bottle of water, lunch on the run, to barter for that silk scarf or just for emergencies having some foreign cash is important.
Grab some cash before you go overseas. Premier Financial Trust Bank branches can order members that hold a Transactional account, foreign cash in most major currencies.
Note that foreign cash must be ordered into our branches upon request and may take a couple of days to arrive. You will receive the prevailing rate on the day of the transaction which may differ from the rate offered when you place your order.

Sending money overseas is easy with Premier Financial Trust Bank by visiting one of our branches
Sending money overseas
Make payments in foreign currencies to bank accounts overseas by requesting a Telegraphic Transfer (TT) at any Premier Financial Trust Bank branch. In order for us to arrange your payment we need to comply with Anti-Money Laundering legislation. The amount must be paid from your Premier Financial Trust Bank account. A $25 Outward Telegraphic Transfer fee will apply to each overseas payment.

Receiving money from overseas
Get payments deposited directly into your Premier Financial Trust Bank bank account. A fee will be deducted from the converted amount deposited into your account. Premier Financial Trust Bank use CitiBank as our United States Of America clearing bank.
The person sending you the money needs the following information:
Your information
- Your full account name
- Your full account number
- Your physical address
- Purpose of remittance payment
Their information
In order for us to credit your account when we receive the money, we need to comply with Anti-Money Laundering legislation. Make sure the person sending the money includes:
- Their bank account number
- Their full name (no initials)
- Their full street address (Residential) (PO Box numbers aren’t acceptable)
If we do not receive all this information we may not be able to process the transaction.

Receiving cheques from overseas
If you receive a cheque (or bank draft) in a foreign currency you can bank these funds as USDinto your Premier Financial Trust Bank account at any Premier Financial Trust Bank branch. Foreign cheques are converted upon clearance by the issuing bank which may take time depending on the bank and country involved. A Foreign Cheque Deposit Fee will apply.
Note: there are some currencies that we no longer accept cheques including: Swiss Franc (CHF) and Japanese Yen (JPY). Other currencies have minimum values for clearance. It is recommended where possible you request electronic payments rather than cheques in foreign currencies.
